If your ink tank position is higher than the print head, then this dumper is required.
What is Ink Damper?
Ink Dampers are an important component in the ink supply system. Their primary function is to stop air bubbles entering the print head.
The Damper should have an air gap at the top of the chamber.
If it is full of ink it will not function properly and should be replaced. There is also a filter which can block and cause flow issues if the damper looks full this may be the reason.
Its a good policy to change them every 5 month.
